Amy Lovera is an artist whose work is rooted in imaginative storytelling and the interplay between reality and fiction. Her work has been exhibited and published both nationally and internationally, including a screening of an animation at the Institute of Contemporary Art in Boston, a performance at the RISD Museum and a publication in Mexico’s Fine Art Photography journal, Luna Córnea. She has also been awarded grants from the Rhode Island State Council of the Arts and the LEF Foundation.
For several years, Amy lived in Mexico City, where she worked as a puppet maker/production designer for film and television. Amy holds an MFA in Photography from the Rhode Island School of Design with a certificate in Collegiate teaching from Brown University. She received her BFA from Mass Art. Amy is an Assistant Professor of Photography at Bridgewater State University and makes her home and work in Providence, Rhode Island.
