Canine Reverie

Canine Reverie is a film created to accompany Christine Southworth’s musical composition, Concerning the Doodle (an ode to her dog). I created a this film with artists, Christina Ean Spangler, Julia Gandrud and Jessica Gidal. At the time, we made up The Clever Girls Collaborative (a film-making collective with an emphasis on hand-made animation). Utilizing a variety of animated techniques including cut paper, paint on glass, and object animation, the film delves into the dream life of two dogs.

Canine Reverie was originally created as a 2 channel film which was accompanied by a live performance of Southworth’s score by performed by the Bang on a Can All-Stars, screened at the the Kaufman Center in NY. It was also screened at the ICA in Boston.
